About Julia

Wilkins began her career after graduating from Tisch School of the Arts in 1997. Her early years were focused on ballet training and an ongoing relationship with a community of sculptors fostering a diverse artist development. She not only performed in virtuosic dance companies, dance theater, and aerial harness, but also worked as a designer and maintained her relationship with sculpture into adulthood.

Her work is a culmination of these elements resulting in image-driven interdisciplinary experiences. Effective communication and a commitment to visceral and enduring visual-scapes with expressive movement is the medium for achieving connection between artist and audience.

Wilkins is committed to the diversification and wider appeal of art as a fundamental principle of her relationship with the world.

An invitation for intimacy and beauty hopes to open the way for an inclusive world, based on the physical connection between humanity and its environment.
