Wilkins is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work invites the viewer into intimate and visceral experiences. A background in dance, performance art and sculpture informs immersive interactive environments, in which the audience can journey with the art. Utilizing sculpture, film, and performative elements, Wilkins’ work occupies a given space creating image-driven evocative experiences.
Wilkins’ work in situ has been witnessed in residencies and exhibitions around the world, and films shown at festivals and as part of a larger work. She loves to utilize concepts in layers of multiple media, and numerous iterations that develop over years.
Her early years included an impressive performative career with national and international touring, after graduating from Tisch School of the Arts with a degree in Dance in 1997. Raised in the Seattle area in a family of artists she moved to New York City in 1994.
Wilkins is committed to the diversification and wider appeal of art as a fundamental principle of her relationship with the world.
An invitation for intimacy and beauty hopes to open the way for an inclusive world, based on the physical connection between humanity and its environment.
